A planner attending the May 20 meeting offered to assist Walsburg staff and the Planning Commission in reviewing and updating the town's code book by providing section-by-section recommendations and formatting help.
The planner said she could "go through certain sections first and give recommendations of improvements or things that could change, like, based on best practice," and commissioners welcomed additional input. She offered to send editable Word copies of revised sections to help with formatting and to avoid retyping content.
Commissioners discussed which sections to prioritize (definitions, supplemental provisions, subdivision rules) and noted state-driven revisions to subdivision language already completed. The planner said she would continue sending edits and that the commission could request more detail on particular sections; commissioners asked staff to identify the next section for review ahead of the June meeting.
The planner and commissioners agreed this approach would speed the town's code-revision work and reduce staff burden; the item will return to the agenda for further consideration.
