The Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety on June 18 accepted the police department’s monthly report, which summarized department activity and traffic, investigative and animal-patrol statistics for the reporting period.
Statistics presented: Harrison (Police Department) reported total patrol mileage of 29,337 miles; 964 calls for service; 74 arrests; 83 citations; 273 warnings; and 280 traffic stops. The investigative division had 11 assignments, three active and eight closed; staff reported seven cases investigated, six suspects arrested and six methamphetamine-related investigations. The traffic division reported VIN checks, escorts and parking enforcement activity; the animal-patrol unit logged 49 calls within the city limits, with 17 animals taken to the shelter and one bite case.
Board action: A motion to approve the police department’s monthly report was made and approved by the two members present.
What the numbers mean: The report consolidates patrol, investigative, traffic and animal-control activity; the board did not propose changes to policing policy during the meeting and took the report as informational and approved it for the record.
