The board approved a request from Burke County Family Connection to use Room 230 at Waynesboro Primary School for its local office space while the Life Center is undergoing changes.
Teresa Carter, representing Burke County Family Connection, told the board the move would allow the organization to continue serving families discreetly near the first-grade hallway and said she did not plan to host large public meetings at the school location. “I am humbly asking for your support so that I may continue to serve the families and students of Burke County effectively and responsibly,” she said.
Board members discussed the request; the superintendent and staff said the room had been used by county partners and that the space would not disrupt daily school operations. A motion to allow the organization use of Room 23 (recorded in the transcript) at Waynesboro Primary carried on a show-of-hands vote.
What’s next: Staff will coordinate the relocation and clarify whether the arrangement is temporary while the Life Center is renovated or will remain in place pending further facility decisions.
