North Ridgeville schools report strong year, construction under way ahead of Aug. 15 groundbreaking

"We are very proud of our students and our staff for their hard work throughout this past year," the superintendent said.
The district completed its first graduation at Ranger Stadium after a one-day postponement because of weather; officials described the event as a success and said they will adjust logistics for future years. The superintendent also thanked community partners for scholarship support and singled out Adaptable Athletics Day, organized by Jackie Vance and her team, as a successful community event.
Construction work at the Bainbridge campus has begun, the superintendent reported. Fencing and site preparation are in place to separate the work zone from school areas; officials said truck traffic has increased as dirt-moving and staging continue. The district also reported concrete work at the Mavens Transportation site and said those projects are progressing.
District officials announced that the Aug. 15 back-to-school kickoff will include the official groundbreaking for the new high school and the opening of the "2000 Wilcox" time capsule the district plans to unseal at that event. The superintendent asked the community to watch for detailed event timing from the district.
Separately, the superintendent noted a Veterans of Foreign Wars event honoring North Ridgeville veterans, where high school students led by Brandon Muck were being recognized for a remembrance video; staff members Miss Schroeder and Mr. Pritt were listed as district representatives at that event.
