The Government Operations Committee approved a request from Tri City Health Partnership to close a city parking lot (300 block of Walnut) for a health fair scheduled for Aug. 9, 2025.
Chief Majewski presented the request and said the event will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and offer sports physicals and routine childhood vaccinations by appointment for school‑age children in central Kane County whose families are patients of Tri City Health Partnership. The police department recommended approval and noted volunteers will remove barricades at the conclusion of the event.
“Tri City Health Partnership is sponsoring a health fair and is requesting closure of the city's public lot r ... This event is scheduled to take place from 8AM to 7PM,” Chief Majewski said. The committee approved the closure on a roll call vote; Werbaugh moved and Petrilla seconded the motion.
Staff said the event will use barricades and volunteer assistance for setup and takedown and will coordinate with police for safety and traffic direction. No fee waiver or special funding changes were discussed in the meeting record.
