She said two substantive changes adopted after staff feedback were a blackout‑day carve‑out for college move‑in dates and the removal of recommended benefit fees for unpaid leaves and unpaid sick time.
Personnel committee members on the record praised the consolidation as a significant improvement in clarity, accessibility and consistency. The board voted to place the proposed handbook changes on the table and consider final approval at the July board meeting; the motion and its supporting materials were noted to be available to the public in BoardDocs.
