DeSoto County principal Dr. Floyd recognized at board meeting as he retires after 27 years

Dr. Floyd addressed the board and audience: “I just wanna say I'm blessed. The majority of my career is Southern County. You know, I can say out every school I've worked at, it's been awesome. Never had a boss I didn't like. And that's been blessing,” he said, adding thanks to his wife for support during his career.
The board presented the recognition as a bittersweet moment and thanked Dr. Floyd for his service. No formal personnel action beyond public recognition was read into the record at that time.
