On May 31, the City of Doral held a Hurricane Safety Fair at the Doral Police Training Center to provide residents with information on preparing for hurricane season, a City of Doral staff member said.
The event was organized by the City of Doral Code Compliance Department alongside other city departments, exhibitors and sponsors and aimed to give residents practical steps to reduce risk during storms, the staff member said. “The event was a valuable resource for our residents, offering essential information on how to stay safe during hurricane season,” the staff member said.
City staff highlighted basic preparedness actions: make a plan with household members, identify and familiarize yourself with alternative evacuation routes, and assemble or update emergency supply kits to cover potential extended disruptions to electricity, water, heat or telecommunications. “We wanna make sure you're prepared too,” the staff member said, introducing a short list of tips shared at the fair.
Officials also encouraged residents to follow the City of Doral’s social-media channels for the latest updates and local guidance before and during storms. “Stay informed. Stay prepared,” the staff member said.
The presentation provided general preparedness guidance; no regulatory changes, funding decisions or formal actions were discussed at the event, and no vote or formal direction was recorded.
