Board receives licensing report; 18 residency programs recommended for approval

Licensing staff told the Podiatric Medical Board of California that 29 podiatrists were newly licensed in the most recent quarter and that renewals remain high, with 267 renewals processed in the quarter.
Andrea, licensing program staff, said the board’s licensing committee met May 7 and recommended approval of 18 separate California postgraduate clinical training programs seeking approval for the 2025–26 academic year. The committee’s recommendation was included in committee reports the board received at the meeting.
Staff also reported that 22 applicants were from out of state and described the current resident rotation and renewal totals; they noted three licensees had one‑year renewal fee adjustments related to wildfire provisions in 2025. The licensing report included a small number of applicants who completed application packages and an updated resident rotation list count.
Board members moved to receive and accept committee and staff reports (items 6a–6e); the motion carried and the licensing‑committee recommendation is part of the accepted records. No additional board action on individual residency approvals was taken at the meeting beyond receiving the committee report.
