The Alpine City Planning Commission appointed Commissioner Alan McDonald as chair and Commissioner Jeff Davis as vice chair at its Jan. 7 meeting. The two-year appointments continue until successors are named.
City planner Ryan Robison explained the code requirement: "Our code requires in January of odd years, we select a new chair and vice chair," he said, noting the commission may reappoint incumbents. Commissioner Susan Wittenberg moved to appoint McDonald as chair and Davis as vice chair; Commissioner John McKay seconded. The commission voted unanimously to approve the appointments.
Robison and commissioners discussed term timing and how vacancies or expiring terms are handled; staff said the vice chair would serve out the remainder of a chair term if a chair's membership ended before a successor was selected. The appointments will be recorded in the commission minutes and communicated to the City Council as part of routine administration.
