Emergency medical services comprised the majority of incidents; vehicle accidents were the district’s second most common call type in recent months, including several incidents with major injuries and some fatalities.
The district described common EMS call types as falls and interfacility transfers; the district also noted seasonal increases in heat‑related incidents and traumatic rescues associated with local outdoor recreation areas. The district confirmed it files incident reports to the National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) and said the nation will transition to a new system (NERRIS/NEMSIS migration) next January.
Fire staff also described the district’s role in regional wildland mitigation and in‑kind match programs that allow the district to qualify for state‑provided wildfire suppression resources without direct local reimbursement.
