The Springdale Town Council on May 14 granted local consent for two on‑premise alcohol license applications required by the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS).
Shane Took, owner of Water Canyon Winery at 1066 Zion Park Boulevard, told the council he has operated under a tasting license (5.5‑ounce tastings) but sought a bar‑establishment license to sell full glasses of wine on site. He said the DABS inspection passed and the winery manufactures its own wine. Councilmember Kyla Topham moved to approve the local consent request for Water Canyon Winery; the motion passed without opposition.
The council also granted local consent to Morsels and Mountains LLC, doing business as Lee Macaron French Pastries, at 205 Zion Park Boulevard (formerly Café Soleil). Applicant Carl Fermato said the business will serve pastries, gelato and plan to introduce champagne, wine and mimosas. The council moved to give written consent for the DABS application and authorize the mayor to sign. Both local consent approvals were unanimous among attending members with one member excused.
Staff noted these actions are local consent to allow the state Alcoholic Beverage Services agency to consider issuing the licenses; final licensing decisions remain with the state agency.
