City to add Kevin McKinney as new public works director starting June 30

City Administrator Ewell announced the hire of Kevin McKinney as the new public works director, saying McKinney brings experience from Miamisburg, the City of Dayton, the City of Lebanon and Hamilton Utilities. "We will have Mr. Kevin McKinney joining us on June 30 as our public works director," Ewell said. Administration plans an introduction to council and the public later in the summer.
Ewell also briefed council on interior lighting and exterior landscape-lighting retrofits underway in city buildings, and said crews expect interior work to be completed by the end of the following week, followed by exterior improvements.
Why it matters: a new public works director will oversee capital projects and routine maintenance, including ongoing reconstruction projects and building upgrades currently reported by administration and the engineering department.
