The district outlined summer programming and outreach aimed at keeping students engaged, including sports workouts, a variety of camps, and the Fired Up for Reading summer reading challenge. “Kindergarten through sixth grade students can keep logging their reading minutes all summer long for a chance to win awesome prizes, including a ride on the Corsicana fire truck,” a district staff member said; the staff member reported the program has logged 7,598 minutes toward a 50,000‑minute goal.
