CFB ISD says student and staff placements complete amid consolidation; logistics ongoing

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD administrators reported on June 5 that the district’s consolidation work is largely complete for the 2025–26 school year and that operational, curriculum and family supports remain on schedule.

What staff said: Deputy leaders described a coordinated effort across departments. Mister Marsh (executive team lead for the project) summarized priorities: every reasonable action taken to place students, pop‑up registration events at consolidated campuses, personal outreach to families of students receiving special education services, and placement protections for consolidated staff. Assistant Superintendent Kim Holcomb (leadership and learning) described inventory, packing and color‑coding of curriculum materials and distribution of books for summer reading. Assistant Superintendent Chris Moore (operations) and facilities staff reported they have distributed more than 4,000 boxes and 250 rolls of tape and that Central campus materials have already been cleared and reassigned; Long Middle and McCoy moves were underway or scheduled.
Family outreach and communications: Chief Communications Officer Karen Rodriguez said farewell and welcome events were held, memory pages created for consolidated schools and parent‑facing marquee and social media messages were posted. Staff reported pop‑up registration events and orientations were well attended.
Outstanding items: technology and remaining classroom moves will continue through July; staff noted that the receiving campuses and principal teams have temporary communication groups to reach incoming students before official systems roll over in July. Trustees asked for continued updates and thanked staff for the cross‑departmental work.
