The Wolfeboro Planning Board voted June 17 to appoint Suzanne Ryan as a member‑at‑large to the town’s Capital Improvements Program (CIP) committee.
The board chair, Doug Greskin, moved to appoint Ryan and a second was recorded; the board then voted in favor by voice vote. Members discussed the committee’s composition—one Select Board member, one budget committee member, two planning board representatives and four at‑large members—and why Ryan had not been appointed earlier after expressing interest: she had recently run for and taken a seat on the budget committee, which led the board to pause. Several members noted, however, that Ryan has served on the CIP committee for “approximately a half a dozen years” and is familiar with the process.
Suzanne Ryan told the board she finds the CIP useful “as to the town’s 10 year plan and what direction we’re going” and said she was “very concerned about water and sewer this year, and I don't think we've been paying enough attention to it.” Board members asked whether she had time to serve on both the budget committee and the CIP; members who spoke supported her appointment based on her experience and commitment.
