He cited contacts with vendors and examples: “I got a hold of Arcadia, and I think theirs was around $4,600 for 1 of those signs. Good Shepherd has 1 that was $3,000.” He also referenced a study he said showed a 70% reduction in speeds where such signs were used.
On the Route 613 approach, Baker asked whether the 35 mph speed advisory could be posted farther from the town entrance; he noted that the state controls the highway and said the committee may need to coordinate with state authorities for changes. “I know it's a state highway, so I don't know what jurisdiction we have,” he said.
The committee did not adopt a purchase or send a formal referral at the meeting.
