The mayor told council that "the first 2 homes at Riley Meadows were placed today," noting the state grant supporting the project is being implemented and that the city must now identify qualified buyers for those homes. The mayor described housing as "one of our biggest challenges" and said the grant from the state of Ohio is being used to install the units.
The Director of Public Service and Safety said the city "did put in for the next round of community development block grant solicitations" and described the proposed project as "roughly a $120,000 worth of project for the upstairs." He said the application has been submitted to the state for consideration.
