FOSTORIA, Ohio — The Fostoria City Council voted unanimously to submit to voters a renewed five‑year, 1% municipal income tax in addition to the city’s permanent 1% tax and set Nov. 4, 2025, as the election date.
The council adopted the ordinance at third reading; the measure became Ordinance No. 2025‑45. Council then passed a companion resolution establishing Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, as the election date for the levy; that measure became Resolution No. 2025‑46.
Councilmembers voted in favor during roll call; recorded votes at the meeting show all present members voting "Yes" on both the ordinance and the resolution. The measure is a renewal of a five‑year levy, not a new permanent tax; it is structured as an additional 1% for five years on top of the city’s existing 1% permanent income tax.
The council did not discuss further amendments at the meeting; with the council’s action the matter will appear on the Nov. 4 ballot for a voter decision.
