The Planning Commission told the Village Board it is likely to pursue an update to the village’s comprehensive plan rather than a complete revision, citing several new studies and plans completed since the last plan.
At the commission’s June meeting, staff from the consultant Tesco explained the purpose and timing of comprehensive‑plan updates. Commissioners identified four areas to consider integrating into the current plan: the sustainability plan, the stormwater study, a land‑use study, and a planned development ordinance. The commission indicated it probably will not meet in July unless consultant work prompts a July 10 meeting; members said further scheduling depends on consultant deliverables.
The commission’s suggestion is to update the existing plan to incorporate the new studies and to evaluate whether sections of the plan require more substantial revision in the future. The item will return to the commission for formal recommendation if staff and the consultant propose specific amendments or an update schedule.
