"They had a well oiled running machine… I was very, very impressed with how dedicated they were," said Council member Mark Cottrell, commending city staff for delivering hundreds of recycling cans. He said roughly 600 cans had been delivered earlier and that about 1,200 remained to be distributed in coming weeks.
Council staff said they will meet with the contractor, Robinson, to finalize the pickup schedule and that city communications will inform residents when collection begins. Council members asked to include the city’s CERT coordinator and community‑engagement staff in scheduling conversations to coordinate outreach and training.
No formal ordinance or vote was required; staff will return schedules and implementation details to the council as planning continues.
