Park County releases DSR 1 for 45-day public review; hearing set for Aug. 5 in Cody

Park County planning staff announced that Draft State Revisions 1 (DSR 1) is being released for public review and will be published in the local paper on June 19, starting a 45-day comment period and leading to a public hearing Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Cody Auditorium.
The county said DSR 1 focuses on statutory changes and definition updates to align local rules with state and federal law, clarifies several processes and reformats the document. "DSR 1 is not the uses in zoning. It is mostly statutory changes, definitions to comply with state and federal changes, and some reworking of the processes," a county planner said. Hard copies will be available at the Cody and Powell libraries and the Park County Planning and Zoning and Commissioner's offices, and the full document will appear on engageparkcounty.com.
Staff asked commenters to include page numbers and suggested solutions when submitting written comments. "If you do choose to comment via email to the commissioners, which is great, but we would like you to include not only what you perceive as the problem, but give us your ideas as far as a solution," the planner said. Written comments are due by 11 a.m. Aug. 1 to be included with the public hearing record.
County staff also said DSR 2 remains on hold while consultants compile public-input summaries and that they expect that work to take about another month.
The planning office encouraged residents to review the full draft online or in hard copy and to reference specific pages in any comments to help staff review them.
