Jennings County School Corporation board appoints Curtis Neiman to District 2 seat

The Jennings County School Corporation board voted 6-0 to appoint Curtis Neiman to the open District 2 seat at its meeting. The appointment fills the seat through Dec. 30, 2028.
The seat was offered after a nomination and vote. Board member Cheryl moved to offer the seat to Curtis Neiman; Mary Lynn seconded the motion. The board chair called for a vote and recorded a 6-0 approval.
During discussion, Cheryl said, “he's the individual that scored the highest on our roof.” The board did not expand on the scoring method during the meeting. Board staff member Nikki said she would communicate the appointment to Neiman that evening.
The appointment resolves the vacancy in District 2 and completes the term through Dec. 30, 2028. No public comments were offered after the board moved to add a public-comment period to the agenda earlier in the meeting.
