During public comment at the June 17 meeting, Maureen Dillon told the Village of Tinley Park Board of Trustees that the annual Kiera and Friends lemonade stand will take place Saturday, June 28 starting at noon at 16906 Sandy Lane.
Dillon said the event—organized by her granddaughter, Kiera—will be Kiera’s 12th year running the fundraiser and that 100% of proceeds go to charity. This year’s beneficiary is Tinley Wish. Dillon said prior events have raised “tens of thousands of dollars” for various charities over the years and reported that about 300 people typically attend the Tinley‑area event. She also said the lemonade stand raised over $5,000 in one day at the bottom of her driveway in a prior year.
Dillon described Tinley Wish as a local nonprofit that recently formed a new board; she said her son, Liam Fitzmaurice, is now president of Tinley Wish and that firefighters and other village staff serve on the board. She invited businesses to partner or match donations for the event and provided contact information: email m dillon dillon1127@gmail.com and cell (708) 609‑0991.
Dillon said organizers post details on the Cure and Friends annual lemonade stand Facebook page and that donation information will be added to Tinley Wish’s Facebook page in about one to two weeks. She encouraged residents and businesses to attend and to contact her with partnership inquiries.
