City staff briefed the council that the Sweetwater Mountain Biking Association has worked with state travel-and-tourism officials and that improvements at Wilkins Peak — parking, vault bathrooms and other amenities — support the signage change. Staff said travel-and-tourism has indicated a grant to the association "is going to be approved" but that final grant approval had not yet occurred.
Staff also discussed that the brown tourist directional signs are limited in space and that the council could later propose alternate sign language (for example, to highlight the Greenbelt) before the city submits final wording to the Wyoming Department of Transportation and travel-and-tourism. The council moved to approve the joint resolution and to permit staff to continue coordination with the county and state; the motion passed unanimously.
