WHITEFISH, Mont. — The Whitefish Community Development Board on Thursday postponed votes to appoint a chair and vice chair until its July meeting and approved the minutes from its May 15 meeting.
The board held off on filling leadership roles after staff suggested waiting for a fuller membership. “It’s up to you guys. It’s nice having a fuller board when you can ask everybody that’s available,” a staff member said. The presiding member of the board then said, “We’ll we’ll postpone that until the next meeting and hopefully have a full board.”
The board moved the appointments to the next regular meeting in July. With a four-member quorum present, the board continued with other business. When asked for approval of the May 15 minutes, a motion was made and seconded; the minutes were approved by a show of hands. “It’s been moved and seconded … to approve the May 15 meeting by a show of hands, everyone,” the presiding member said. The presiding member then announced, “Motion passes.”
There were no public comments at the start of the meeting; the presiding member invited members of the public to speak if they wished to address items not on the agenda.
The board did not take additional action on appointments at the June 19 meeting; the item was carried to the July agenda for reconsideration.
