North Bend Council adopts $68.6 million six‑year transportation plan

The North Bend City Council unanimously adopted a resolution approving the city’s six‑year Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) for 2026–2031 on a 7–0 vote.

Public works staff member Rigos delivered the staff report and described the TIP as a state requirement and a management tool: “This is a requirement of the state of Washington, to provide this and approve the 6 year TIP,” he said. The packet lists 30 completed capital transportation projects since February 2016 and identifies $68,600,000 in planned projects over the next six years, roughly $10 million per year.

The TIP provides the city council, committees, residents and developers with a project schedule, helps coordinate timing with private and public partners, and is a prerequisite for many grant applications, according to Rigos. The council opened and then closed a renewed public hearing on the plan; no public testimony was offered.

Council member Collin moved to adopt the resolution as a final reading, and Council member Susan Torgerson seconded; the motion passed 7–0. Council members praised public works for project delivery and asked staff to continue routine progress reporting to the public.
