The project scope described in staff materials includes replacement of seven buildings, a parking lot addition, playground upgrades and overall campus modernization; staff clarified that final bidding will reflect enrollment and funding at the time of bid so the district may phase construction rather than build all elements at once.
A trustee asked about the architect’s role; staff explained the architect will prepare drawings, submit documents to DSA, respond to construction questions and sign off on DSA close-out items. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the contract by voice vote with no opposition.
The board authorized the time-and-materials agreement not to exceed $488,640 and directed staff to proceed with DSA-level documents and next steps toward bidding. The board noted flexibility to reduce building scope at the bidding stage if enrollment or funding requires it.
