“I'm just thankful to all of you who helped me reach out to Senator Carson who attended our graduation,” Crystal said, thanking elected leaders for support; she also described graduating a 75‑year‑old student applying to Berkeley and the program’s large graduation turnout.
Motion and vote: Sarah Laughlin moved to accept the grant; Tim Porter seconded. The board recorded an aye vote of 4–0.
