Atherton council names members to audit, transportation, park and planning panels; several vacancies remain

The Town of Atherton City Council on June 18 appointed residents to multiple advisory committees and to the planning commission, filling several vacancies while leaving other seats open for future recruitment.

Council appointed Steven Brickley and Suzanne Jane to four‑year terms on the Audit and Finance Committee after both candidates spoke to the council and described financial and audit experience. Samantha Michelle, who also applied, was thanked and encouraged to continue attending meetings.

The council appointed Steve Seibolt to a four‑year term and Samantha Michelle to a two‑year partial term on the Transportation, Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Committee. For the Park and Recreation Foundation seat the council reappointed Walter Robinson. For the Planning Commission the council appointed Bob Pulido to a four‑year term expiring June 30, 2029.

Staff reported additional vacancies remain on the Environmental Programs Committee and one regular Park and Recreation Committee seat; the council encouraged continued recruitment and noted a posted schedule of term expirations to aid applicants.

The process included public comment from former Audit & Finance chair Anne Walker, who spoke in support of two audit committee candidates. Appointments were made by voice vote; where candidates were not present staff will notify appointees and issue appointment materials.
