The Walworth County Executive Committee voted Monday to extend the employment contract of County Administrator Mark Labirda after committee members discussed salary language in the proposed extension.
Committee members asked whether the contract's stated 5% increase represented the administrator's total annual adjustment or whether the county's cost-of-living adjustments would be added on top of that figure. Labirda told the committee that the 5% amount is the total increase he receives under the contract and that cost-of-living and merit are rolled into that figure; he said he would not separately receive a subsequent COLA on top of the 5%.
A motion to carry the contract forward was made and seconded, and the committee approved the extension by voice vote. The contract materials appear in the meeting packet on pages 8 through 22; committee members had reviewed the item at length at a prior meeting.
The discussion also noted the contract language had been used under a prior administrator. No amendments to the contract language were recorded during the meeting.
