Veneta officials on June 17 awarded pest control contract IFB25-006 to Aaron Exterminators after the lowest bidder failed to complete required bid documents, city staff said.
At the Veneta Utilities Authority meeting, staff reported four bids were received; the apparent lowest bid of $2.90 (unit unspecified in the packet) did not complete the application process. The next-lowest responsible bidder was Aaron Exterminators, whose submitted price was cited in the meeting as $4.30 (unit unspecified). The VUA approved awarding the contract to Aaron Exterminators; the city council later approved the same award.
City staff said Aaron Exterminators has worked for the city previously and provided satisfactory service. Officials said the contract is itemized by facility so charges will be split between the VUA and city departments; the award will also appear on a separate council agenda item to formalize the city portion.
During the VUA discussion, a board member confirmed the current contractor did rebid. City and VUA members approved the award by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
