A district negotiator presented the tentative agreement between Southern Kern Unified and the Rosemont Teachers Association (RTA) and disclosed estimated costs to the county office of education.
“the increase for the RTA will be about $897,228,” the presenter reported during the disclosure discussion. The board then accepted the disclosure and moved to approve the tentative agreement.
The nut graf: trustees approved the three-year tentative agreement covering July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, and separately approved a 2.5% on-schedule increase to revised salary schedules for other represented and confidential employees effective July 1, 2024.
Board members described the tentative agreement as a negotiated settlement in which both parties made concessions; the transcript records a motion and a roll-call style approval with the board voting “Aye.” The administration also presented related disclosure documents required by the county office of education.
Actions taken: the board approved the TA with RTA, accepted the cost disclosure to the county office, and revised salary schedules for CSEA, certificated and classified management and confidential supervisory classifications to reflect a 2.5% on-schedule increase effective 07/01/2024.
