Board approves updated harassment, bullying and safety policies for Lakeland School

The Walworth County Disability Education Board on June 18 approved a package of Lakeland School policies addressing student harassment and related topics, including policy 5517 and related subsections listed under agenda letters E and F.
Staff said the policies were presented in grouped agenda items: policy 5517 (student anti‑harassment) and its related policies under letter E, and policy 5517.01 and related policies grouped under letter F, which cover topics such as child abuse reporting, threats of violence, school safety and behaviors toward staff. Board members voted to approve the policies as presented and categorized.
Motions to approve were made and seconded; approvals carried by voice vote. Staff said summaries for each policy are included in the packet for review.
