Natrona County commissioners approved an amendment to the county’s concealed-carry policy for employees to conform with changes in state law effective July 1. The amendment clarifies language in the policy’s purpose section to read that it is intended to provide “clear guidelines for all Natrona County employees who choose to carry a firearm/ammunition on work time.”
County staff told commissioners the change brings the policy into compliance with the statutory adjustments that allow certain employees with valid permits to carry on duty under prescribed circumstances. The board asked county human-resources and legal staff to keep employees informed and to distribute guidance on where and how a permit-holder may carry while at work.
