The Cocoa Beach City Commission accepted the engineer’s recommendation and awarded a contract to CK Contractors and Development LLC for a sewer pipe replacement project in the amount of $2,214,480.
Public Works and Water Reclamation staff described the project as a budgeted capital improvement to replace failing sewer pipe in several locations. The bid package (CB25-005) received competitive responses and the engineer recommended CK Contractors and Development LLC as the lowest responsive bidder.
A motion to accept the engineer’s recommendation and authorize staff to enter into a contract passed unanimously by the commissioners present. Staff said the project is budgeted and will proceed under typical construction oversight, with CK Contractors expected to begin mobilization after final contract execution.
Commissioners had no additional public comment on the project during the vote; staff will return with standard contract documents, schedule and bonding and insurance verifications.
