Commissioners approved a request to rezone a 2.5‑acre portion of the property at 1913 Wildwood Church Road from RR‑2.5 to A‑5 after staff told the board the change would return the parcel to the prevailing zoning and conform with the comprehensive plan.
Brett, the county planner, said the owner had rezoned the property to RR‑2.5 roughly two and a half years earlier to enable a lot line adjustment with a neighbor, but the owner later chose to retain a larger parcel. Returning the parcel to A‑5, Brett said, “meets the comprehensive plan as well as the general character of the area, and this shows you the existing single family home on the property today. So staff is recommending approval of the requested rezoning.”
There were no public speakers for or against the rezoning on the record, and commissioners moved to close the public hearing and approve staff’s recommendation. The approval was procedural and intended to align the parcel’s zoning with adjacent properties.
The commission’s approval will be recorded in the minutes and, as an administrative rezoning recommendation, will follow the standard process for formalizing the change in the county’s zoning maps.
