The Kent City School District Board approved a set of operational contracts at its June meeting: a 60‑month lease for postage and maintenance, a 36‑month technology support agreement and an insurance renewal.
Administration said it solicited quotes for the district’s postage meter and maintenance and received three proposals; the administration recommended a 60‑month lease with Pitney Bowes (referred to in the meeting) because of favorable service and equipment despite not being the lowest bid. The board approved the lease.
The district also presented a proposed 36‑month agreement with Edutech for ongoing technology support; administrators said Edutech had provided strong support under the initial agreement and recommended continuing the relationship. The board approved the three‑year technology support agreement.
Finally, the district’s insurance broker, Gallagher, solicited pricing from multiple insurers and recommended a renewal with Liberty Mutual for liability, fleet and related coverages. Administration noted market price increases for K‑12 coverage in Ohio and highlighted changes in the comparative quote grid. The board approved the insurance renewal on a roll call vote.
Each item passed on roll call; administration noted that the postage lease and technology support procurements had been reviewed and presented with comparison information in the meeting packet.
