Marshfield planning staff report: SEH contract approved, senior planner position remains open and two homeowners pursue local historic‑register listings

City planning staff reported three personnel and program updates to the Marshfield Planning Commission on June 17: the Common Council recently approved moving forward with a contract for planner services with the firm SEH that will run from July 1 through June 30 next year; the city is still recruiting for a senior planner position; and the Historic Preservation Commission has two property owners preparing applications to place homes on the local historic register, which the planning commission will likely see for review in the next two to three months.
Staff said the planner currently assisting Marshfield planning work, Bryce Henbrook, works for SEH and will continue under the new contract period. The planning commission was told the city has advertised the senior planner position and has been seeking to fill that role for roughly two and a half years.
The Historic Preservation Commission’s outreach has produced two interested homeowners whose properties appear to be eligible for local designation, staff said; those nominations will move through the Historic Preservation Commission process first and then come before the planning commission as part of the local register review steps.
