Committee approves several liquor-license expansions, holds one event request and denies massage application

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Protection & Policy Committee on June 16, 2025, approved several limited expansions of alcohol premises and a reserve-class B application, but asked for more security details on one event and denied a massage-establishment application for a residency requirement omission.
The committee approved limited outdoor expansions for State Street Pub and Main Street Pub and Grill after the police department said the applicants planned fencing and security. "They are gonna have fencing and security up so we have no issues," a police representative said about the State Street plan.
The committee also approved a reserve class B application for Salud GB LLC at 708 Bodard Street; the item was approved to proceed to final approval by proper authorities next week.
By contrast, the committee held the request from Riverside Ballroom at 1560 Main Street because police said the submitted plan lacked fencing and security details: "The plan that was submitted does not show any fencing, any security," the police reviewer said, asking the applicant to submit a complete security plan before the committee reconsiders the request.
Separately, staff recommended denial of an application for a new massage establishment at 900 Cedar Street because the listed agent had a Chicago residence and the ordinance requires an agent to have been a state resident for at least 90 days. The committee voted to deny that application.
All approvals were contingent on the proper authorities completing final reviews; the committee's votes will be forwarded to the Common Council for final action as required by procedure.
