Kathy, a public-health presenter, said the MPCA fined Bush Agriculture Resources $323,850 for permit violations discovered in a 2023 inspection and that Clay County—s share is $129,540: "The amount was 129,540. So the amount that they find Bush Agriculture Resources was 323,850. So it was a portion of that that we received. I believe it's 40% of that amount that public health receives." She said state statute requires that when a fine exceeds a threshold a portion be directed to public health to support community follow-up.
