Board confirms appointment of Michael Rodasta as West Seneca director of technology

The West Seneca Central School District Board of Education recognized and welcomed Michael Rodasta after the board approved personnel actions earlier in the meeting.
Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Operations John Cervoni introduced Rodasta and said the board approved his appointment to director of technology following the retirement of Scott Firkins. Cervoni said Rodasta impressed interviewers with “technological understanding, brilliance...a passion for teamwork and an understanding of the role that a director of technology” plays in supporting teaching and learning.
Rodasta, introduced with family in attendance, said brief remarks and was welcomed by the board. Earlier in the meeting motions to approve personnel agenda items passed unanimously (votes recorded as 7–0 where shown on the consent and personnel items). The board did not discuss additional conditions or amendments to the appointment at the June 17 meeting.
Action taken: Personnel agenda items covering hires and promotions were approved by voice vote during the meeting; the record shows motions for personnel items and consent agenda items carried unanimously where votes were called.
