The School Committee approved revised salary and benefit guidelines for district interventionists and tutors at the June 16 meeting, including a 3% hourly pay increase and the addition of three paid holidays.
District staff explained interventionists previously received three paid holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s) and that the proposal adds Indigenous Peoples Day, Veterans Day and Memorial Day. The administration also proposed an equity adjustment of approximately 3% consistent with recent educator increases, moving the proposed hourly rate to $39.47.
Committee members asked whether adding three holidays was intended to match other employee groups; staff said the move is a step toward parity and that additional alignment will be evaluated in future budget cycles.
The committee approved the recommended salary and benefit guidelines by voice vote.
