Highwood council adopts fiscal 2025 budget

The City of Highwood City Council on June 17 adopted the city’s fiscal year 2025 budget, approving a spending plan councilmembers said preserves the city’s priorities.

The vote took place at the City of Highwood regular council meeting at Highwood City Hall and passed by roll call. The budget covers operating and capital priorities the council discussed during its budget review process.

Treasurer Scott, responding to a question from the council, said the plan keeps the city’s priorities funded and noted that some projects already have expenditures. Councilmembers cast unanimous votes to adopt the budget. Roll-call responses recorded at the meeting showed ayes from Councilmembers Fowler, Slavin, Hanson, Fiore, Peterson and Mark Hoetsz; the motion passed.
