District administrators updated the board on negotiations with the YMCA to provide the district's before- and after-school care program next year and said the agreement is on the meeting agenda for board approval.
Administrators, who said they met with YMCA representatives and solicited parent feedback, told the board the YMCA agreed to provide service during delayed openings. They also said all other rates remain unchanged except a $20–$25 fee for delayed opening coverage, restoring the price previously charged by the former provider.
Officials said the YMCA agreed to use the schools' secure vestibules for drop-off and pick-up and confirmed the district has verified vestibule procedures at all locations. The district considered but did not adopt a central-location model; instead, the YMCA will operate at each school's regular site and follow that school's delay schedule.
The board agenda lists the YMCA agreement for approval at the same meeting. Administrators invited continued feedback from families and said they had offered parents opportunities to meet with district leadership during negotiations.
Ending: The agreement will return to the board as an action item for formal approval; administrators said they will continue to monitor implementation and family feedback.
