The Henderson City Council voted to move its July meeting date from July 15 to July 8 and reappointed four members to the city’s Cemetery Board whose terms expire July 1, 2025.
Councilman Michael Searcy moved to change the 07/15/2025 council meeting to 07/08/2025; Mister Strong seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote.
City staff member Kimbrell asked the council to reappoint John Doolin, Lydia Ramirez, Lisa Wallace and Scott Crawford to the Cemetery Board; he said the terms expire on July 1, 2025. Council approved the reappointments by unanimous voice vote. During the discussion Kimbrell noted that “Mister Doolin's only a couple hours away from becoming a full time employee,” remarking on Doolin’s significant time spent researching cemetery history and records.
Why this matters: The date change alters the council’s public schedule and any public hearings or deadlines that were set for the originally scheduled meeting. Reappointments keep the Cemetery Board’s membership in place as the board continues its work on cemetery records and history.
The council also approved its consent agenda and several other routine planning items before adjourning at 6:41 p.m.
