Council approves contract amendment for South Sixth Street booster pump design

The Klamath Falls City Council authorized the city manager to execute contract amendment No. 1 with RH2 Engineering Inc. for design services on the South Sixth Street Booster Pump Station project, not to exceed $61,478.
Water Manager Robbie West explained the amendment covers additional work that came up after the original contract began last year and that the extra items were listed in the amendment packet. "We've had a few things come up, a few things we've had them work on outside of the regular scope," West said.
Councilors praised water staff for progress on multiple projects during the year. There was no public comment on the item. A motion was made and seconded; council approved the authorization by voice vote.
The amendment is intended to allow RH2 to finish outstanding design tasks so the project can move forward to construction procurement. West said staff aims to wrap up the design phase promptly so the project can proceed.
No timeline for construction was given during the meeting, and no change order or construction contract was approved at this session; this amendment covers only additional design services.
