The Opelika City Council on June 17 approved a contract for the design and installation of signs and awarded the work to Night Sign Industries Incorporated.
City staff told the council the proposal opening date was June 9, 2025; the solicitation was mailed to 14 vendors and two proposals were received. "We recommend the contract be awarded to Night Sign Industries Incorporated based on their responsive proposal, achieving the highest composite score on an as needed basis," the staff member said during the bid presentation.
Council members moved and seconded approval, and the measure passed on a roll call vote. The contract was described as an as-needed services contract; staff did not provide the total contract value during the meeting.
The award follows the city’s standard competitive solicitation process; staff indicated they scored proposals and recommended the responsive, highest-scoring vendor for the contract.
