Councilmembers announce Juneteenth celebration, First Responders Day, Pride parade, office hours and a budget forum

Councilmembers used the announcements period to publicize upcoming community events and district office hours.

Councilmember Hill announced First Responders Appreciation Day on June 22 at Frankie Jay’s in Germantown, with the restaurant hosting a gathering from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. A separate announcement invited the public to Juneteenth events; one councilmember said the city’s Juneteenth celebration at Fort Naglin would run from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on June 19.

Councilmember Bradford said his monthly office hours will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at a Dunkin’ on Bridal Parkway and invited residents to join him for coffee. Bradford also invited councilmembers and the public to the annual Nashville Pride parade next Saturday; he asked participants to gather at 9:30 a.m. in front of the old S. S. Kefauver Building for a 10 a.m. start.

Another councilmember said they will lead the Pride parade and asked participants to arrive as early as 9 a.m. at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Broadway. A different councilmember announced District 14 office hours at Flower Your Dreams Bakery and Cafe (8–9:30 a.m.) and reminded listeners of a zoning-community meeting and the upcoming budget vote.

One councilmember announced a budget conversation scheduled for noon the next day in Committee Room 2 with Budget Chair Porterfield; the meeting was described as a final budget conversation for the season and would review the council’s substitute budget. These items were announcements for community engagement and constituent outreach; no formal council votes or budget decisions were recorded during the announcements period.
