Never Say Never playground nearing completion; parks director, council thank volunteers

Council members and Parks and Recreation commissioners reported updates on the Never Say Never PlayLand project and thanked city staff, volunteers and local businesses who helped with the build.
Alderman Armstrong Garcia said the playground build was a community effort and thanked Tom Kluger, Parks and Recreation Director, and Nick Griffin, Finance Director, among others for leadership. The council said turf surfacing was placed at the park this week and that cleaning and final work remain before a grand opening can be scheduled.
The council also noted there are no current developments on Dock Park and invited residents with park-related issues to the Parks and Recreation meeting on June 23 at 5:30 p.m.
